Rational Thought vs. Superstition

Why fight for rational thought in school? Because it is there in increasingly short supply.

It's a real shame - many of the teachings of the religious beliefs are really worthwhile, but the superstitious baggage that it comes with is pretty harmful.

I guess that really exemplifies the difference between the rational and the religious mindset. Given some unexplained phenomenon, the rationalist views it as a challenge to explain. The religious ascribe it to the supernatural. I know those are broad brush strokes, but that's the essence of the problem.
